Jerome Ifill is a Reading-based singer and performer with experience spanning live music, musical theatre and events. A versatile vocalist, he performs across Berkshire and the wider region, bringing a strong background in soul, funk and rock to the stage.
Jerome currently performs with The Unblessed, a southern England soul-rock band. He joined the group in 2020, with his vocals featuring on the track Another Town. Previously, he was lead singer with The Funk Soul Rebels, a funk and soul band active around the Home Counties.
Jerome’s musical background draws strongly on soul and funk, alongside rock influences through his work with The Unblessed. The band combines soul and rock with elements of funk, drawing inspiration from artists including Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen.
His wider performance experience also includes musical theatre. Jerome has appeared in productions including Footloose, Fame, Grease, Hairspray and Our House. He played Ren McCormack in Reading Operatic Society’s 2013 production of Footloose. More recently, he appeared in Parade, including the roles of Newt Lee and Jim Conley.
Based in Reading, Jerome has longstanding links with the local and regional performing arts scene. His experience covers live music venues, theatre productions, festivals and private events. In addition, his background as an international competitive break dancer adds another dimension to his experience as a live performer.
